Bregan Okada

Fallen Character

Description:
Bio:

Bregan Okada is the bastard son of Mariko and a Drow Elf. Mariko’s village was attacked by Drow seeking slaves. Mariko was captured and raped. The Drow not fearing the humans, took there time traveling back to their caves leading to the Underdark. Not realizing that they had attacked a village under the protection of Samurai. The Samurai, including Mariko’s fiancé Takeshi, pursued the Drow, killed them all and freed the captives. During the fight to free the slaves, Takeshi was killed. The few remaining Samurai took Mariko and the other captured villagers back to the village where Mariko’s father, Rinichi took her in and cared for her. After the birth of Bregan, the elders of the village tried to convince Mariko and Rinichi to give up the child. That it’s heart would be as black as the Drow that fathered him. Rinichi, a renown Samurai refused. Rinichi believed that the soul of the child was free of the sins of the father. He raised Bregan and taught him Bushido and the ways of the Samurai. He believed that one day that all would see he was right and that they would accept Bregan as a Samurai. Rinichi was wrong. Despite having live with and watch the half-drow grow and learn, they could not see past there prejudices. To many times they had watched as Bregan nearly killed a sparing partner during training. Watch as his eyes seemed to fill with pleasure as he beat someone who was down. Only to recover his sanity, apologize, help his opponent up and treat his injuries with the care of a mother. He was night and day, in their eyes. Good and evil. When Bregan came of age, they told Rinichi that Bregan must leave the village and never return. Bregan was furious, but at the urging of his grandfather, he remembered the ways of Bushido….Rectitude, Courage, Benevolence, Respect, Honesty, Honor, Loyalty. Bregan swallowed his anger and honored the wishes of the elders. He gathered his things, said goodbye to his mother, his grandfather and walked away. Bregan now wanders the land. Never belonging anywhere, never feeling at peace. The only time he feels alive is when he is practicing with his swords or killing with them…
